The Spaceport. The reticle marks the locked door the Spaceport Control Tower Key opens, at Control Tower A6, north of Vehicle Maintenance. The key itself is a random container drop.

Short answer

Where to find it and where to use it

The key does not spawn at the door. Nothing in Arc Raiders works that way. Keys are loose container loot, so the Spaceport Control Tower Key can roll anywhere the game rolls key loot, on any map, in any raid.

The containers that roll keys are the small searchable ones: filing cabinets, desk drawers, bedside drawers, office lockers, toolboxes. Big industrial crates and ammo cases are not where you find them.

If you have one and do not plan to use it, it vendors for a token amount. That is a bad trade. The room behind the door is worth many times the sale price.

What it unlocks

The in game description is blunt: it unlocks a door in Control Tower A6 in Spaceport. Our map marks that door at the Control Tower itself, north of Vehicle Maintenance, toward the middle of the map.

Go in the tower's main entrance at ground level and the locked door sits a short way in, off the main hallway. Guides disagree on whether you approach from the north entrance or the southwestern one, and both get you there, because the ground floor loops around. What you are hunting for is a door that refuses the normal interact prompt.

Behind it is not the loot room. Behind it is a zipline. Ride it and you land on the top floor of the tower, which is where everything actually is. That trips people up: they open the door, see a small space, and assume the key was a dud.

What is inside

The top of Control Tower A6 is a working operations room, so loot is spread vertically across desks and consoles instead of piled in one corner. Reported spawns include:

Since the Cold Snap update buffed key rooms across the board, the drawers and cabinets up here have a genuine shot at epic rarity items and blueprints. None of it is guaranteed. Loot rooms roll, and a flat roll is possible.

Is it worth the detour

Yes, if you bring the time for it.

The tower is a landmark. It is visible from most of the map, it sits in the busy middle of Spaceport, and every raider who spawned nearby has already looked at it. Our database lists this room in the orange loot zone, the denser and more contested band rather than the quiet outskirts. Expect company.

The climb also commits you. Riding the zipline up costs tempo, and you loot a glass room at the highest point on the map. Rooftop sightlines cut both ways.

Take it when:

Skip it on a solo run with a full bag and a close extract. Walking out with what you have beats dying in a tower with a key you already burned.

How keys work in Arc Raiders

Four rules cover every key in the game, this one included.

  1. Single use. The key is consumed the instant the door opens. There is no second door.
  2. Lost on death unless it is in your Safe Pocket. Move the key to the Safe Pocket the moment you pick it up. It weighs almost nothing, and this is exactly what the Safe Pocket is for.
  3. Locked rooms reset between raids. The room refills, so farming the same door across multiple raids is a real strategy if you keep finding keys.
  4. Keys drop from containers and from players. Cabinets, drawers, desks and lockers roll them, and anyone you kill might be holding one.

One habit worth building: check the door before you commit. Another squad may have opened it earlier in the raid, in which case it is standing open and stripped, and your key stays in your pocket for next time.

Frequently asked questions

Where do you use the Spaceport Control Tower Key?
At Control Tower A6 on The Spaceport, north of Vehicle Maintenance. The locked door is at ground level off the main hallway, and it leads to a zipline that takes you to the loot room at the top of the tower.
Why do some guides call it Control Tower B6?
The in game item description says Control Tower A6, and that is the label we use on our map. A few community pages write it as B6. It is the same tower, the tall control tower north of Vehicle Maintenance, so do not go hunting for a second one.
Where does the Spaceport Control Tower Key spawn?
It is random container loot from cabinets, drawers, desks and lockers, and it can drop on any map. Residential interiors give the best odds, with Ruby Residence on Dam Battlegrounds a commonly reported spot. Shani's Lost in Transmission quest also awards one.
Is the Spaceport Control Tower Key single use?
Yes. It is consumed when you open the door. Bring one key per door you plan to open, and remember the room resets between raids, so a second key on a later run is worth carrying.
Do you lose the key if you die?
Yes, unless it is stored in your Safe Pocket. Keys are lost on death like any other carried item, so move it to the Safe Pocket as soon as you find it.
