Short answer
Where to find it and where to use it
Uncommon is the friendliest rarity on this map, so this is the key most raiders end up holding first. It still has no fixed spawn, but the odds are good enough that you do not need to plan around it.
- Container types: wooden drawers, cabinets, suitcases, and metal drawers. Residential style furniture is what rolls keys.
- Dam Battlegrounds: Pale Apartments, Ruby Residence, and Pattern House.
- Buried City: Grandioso Apartments.
- Stella Montis itself: the Lobby, the Security Checkpoint area, and the Business Center. Medical Research on the west side is also reported as a strong spot, which is convenient, because it puts you on the correct half of the map already.
- Other raiders: uncommon keys are carried constantly, so player kills are a reliable source.
Safe Pocket it anyway. The key costs you nothing to protect and losing it to a bad fight in the Lobby is a pointless way to give up a free room.
What it unlocks
One door: the admin office off the Central Corridor in Assembly. Our map marks it just north of the corridor, and the two most detailed community routes both land at the same spot.
- From Assembly: head east along the Assembly Line toward where the ground dips down to the tunnels, then go through the door on the south side into the Central Corridor. The locked door is on your right, with a green line painted on the floor in front of it. The green line is the landmark to look for.
- From below: take the tunnel that climbs up into Assembly from the sandbox area, and the door sits near the tunnel exit.
Guides note the admin space has two possible entry sides, which means you may walk up and find one side already open from another raider. Check both before you burn the key. If one is open you keep the key for another raid.
What is inside
A small office space with the container mix you would expect from an administrative room.
- Lockers and cabinets
- Drawers and desks with monitors
- Crafting materials and components
- Valuables and consumables
- Occasional blueprints
Two things to set expectations on. First, this is a green loot zone, the lowest of the three tiers, so it is not going to compete with the Archives or the security room. Second, guides disagree on the layout: some describe a two level space where the upper level holds the better containers, others describe a single compact room. Sweep everything you can see rather than assuming you have found the whole thing, and if there is a way up, take it.
Is it worth the detour
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Uncommon |
| Loot zone | Green, entry tier |
| Door | Admin office off the Central Corridor in Assembly |
| Room size | Small, possibly two levels |
| Verdict | Take it when you are passing, do not route for it |
Worth it as an opportunistic stop, not as a raid objective. That is the whole read on this key.
The case for it: the key is cheap and common, the room is quick to clear, and it beats rummaging through random containers for the same amount of time. If Assembly is already on your route, opening this door is close to free value. The case against: green zone loot is modest, the payoff is heavily random, and one bad roll leaves you with a handful of materials for the trip.
The best version of this key is a night raid where you were already routing through Assembly. Loot tables roll better at night, and you are not spending any extra travel to get there.
How keys work in Arc Raiders
Four rules cover every key in the game, and they are the ones that cost people gear when they forget.
- Every key is single use. It is consumed the moment the door opens. One key, one entry, no exceptions.
- Keys are lost on death unless they are in your Safe Pocket. The Safe Pocket is the only slot that survives a death, so a key goes in there the second it hits your inventory.
- Locked rooms reset between raids. Another raider clearing this room does not lock you out next raid. It refills.
- Keys drop from containers and from players. Cabinets, drawers, desks, and lockers roll them, and so does anyone you kill who was carrying one.
Two habits on top of that. Check the room's loot zone before you spend a key, because a green zone room and a red zone room are not the same trip. And count your free bag slots before you open the door.
Other keys on Stella Montis
Four keys are on this map. Assembly and Medical Research sit on the west side, the Security Checkpoint and the archives sit on the east, so a full key run is a genuine cross map trip.
- Stella Montis Medical Storage Key: uncommon, opens a small storage room inside Medical Research, the other west side door.
- Stella Montis Security Checkpoint Key: rare, opens the security room by the Security Bridge, with the best blueprint reputation on the map.
- Stella Montis Archives Key: epic, the only one on Stella Montis, opens the big Storage Room past the Cultural Archives.
- Every Arc Raiders key location: the full list across every map.
- Stella Montis interactive map: every marked door, extract, and POI in one place.
Frequently asked questions
- Where do you use the Stella Montis Assembly Admin Key?
- On the admin office door off the Central Corridor in Assembly, on the west side of the Stella Montis upper level. Coming from Assembly, head east along the Assembly Line to where the ground dips toward the tunnels, take the door on the south side into the Central Corridor, and the locked door is on your right with a green line painted on the floor.
- Is the Assembly Admin room two floors?
- Sources disagree. Some guides describe a two level space where the upper level holds the better containers, others describe a single compact office. Sweep the whole room and take any stairs you find rather than assuming you have seen all of it.
- What rarity is the Stella Montis Assembly Admin Key?
- Uncommon, the lowest rarity of the four Stella Montis keys. It opens a green loot zone room, which is the entry tier, so it is cheap to find and correspondingly modest in payoff.
- Is the Assembly Admin Key worth using?
- As an opportunistic stop, yes. It reliably beats searching random containers for the same amount of time. It is not worth crossing the map for, and it pays best on a night raid where you were already routing through Assembly.
- Where does the Assembly Admin Key spawn?
- In residential containers on any map, with Pale Apartments, Ruby Residence, and Pattern House on Dam Battlegrounds and Grandioso Apartments in Buried City reported most. On Stella Montis it turns up in the Lobby, the Security Checkpoint area, the Business Center, and Medical Research.
