Material Farming Fundamentals

Fast material farming is about knowing where to go and what to grab. No source this site uses says which map or zone drops which material, so plan runs around the recycling and recipe routes the data does state. Speed is more important than thoroughness when farming.

High Yield Farming Routes

The most efficient farming routes hit multiple loot points in a single run with minimal travel time. Start from the closest extraction point and work inward. Prioritize containers and crates over loose items on the ground. Plan a loop that brings you back near an exit.

Recycling for Target Materials

If you cannot find a specific material as a drop, look for items that recycle into it. Some common items recycle into rare materials. Use the Arc Raiders AI recycling calculator to identify which items give you the materials you are farming for.

Quick Run Strategy

For pure material farming, bring only what the run needs: the wiki's Getting Started page, which says some of its tips come from its editors' experience, says you move faster when not carrying anything. Skip enemies when possible and focus on looting. Use a Light Shield, which carries no movement penalty. The faster you complete each run, the more materials you accumulate per hour.

Material Priority List

Focus on materials that gate your progression. Station upgrade materials should come first since upgrades unlock better crafting recipes. Then farm materials for weapon and shield crafts. Basic consumable materials are usually abundant and do not need dedicated farming.
