Dam Battlegrounds is the first Topside map most Raiders encounter after leaving Speranza. It features wide open spaces, a massive dam structure, and relatively light ARC presence compared to later maps.
Loot Zones
The map is divided into white loot zones primarily, with a few orange pockets near the dam interior. White zone loot includes Ferros, Stitchers, Il Toros, Basic Helmets, Basic Vests, and all common materials (Metal Parts, Plastic Parts, Fabric, Rubber Parts, Wiring, Gunpowder).
The highest value loot spawns inside the dam structure itself. The interior corridors have orange crates containing uncommon gear like the Osprey, Ferro, and Reinforced armor pieces. The generator room on the lower level is the single best loot spot on the map.
Recommended Loot Route
Start at the southern spawn and move toward the dam's eastern maintenance entrance. Clear the initial ARC Tick patrol (usually 3 to 4 Ticks) and loot the maintenance office for materials. Push through the interior corridor toward the generator room. Loot the generator room crates, then exit through the western access tunnel. Hit the construction yard for additional material spawns before extracting.
This route takes approximately 8 to 12 minutes and consistently yields enough Metal Parts and Plastic Parts for 2 to 3 weapon crafts.
Extraction Points
Dam Battlegrounds has three extraction zones: North Ridgeline (safest, longest walk), Dam Top (fastest but exposed), and South Gate (moderate safety). North Ridgeline is recommended for beginners because ARC patrols rarely reach that far. Dam Top extraction is risky because Surveyors patrol the dam surface and can call reinforcements.
ARC Encounters
Expect Ticks (small explosive bots) in groups of 3 to 5, Harvesters (medium melee units) near resource nodes, and Surveyors (flying drones) on the dam surface. Occasionally a Shredder spawns near the generator room. Bring a Heavy Fuze Grenade for Tick clusters and keep your distance from Harvesters.
PvP Hotspots
The dam interior is contested. Other Raiders will push the generator room. Listen for footsteps in corridors and check corners. The construction yard is another PvP zone since it sits between two spawn points. Avoid lingering in open areas on the dam surface where snipers have clear sightlines.
